Overview
Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurse's to join our ICU team. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park with 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit. Our Cardiac, Maternity, Rehab and Oncology services also provide exceptional specialty care for individuals and their families/carers across the Newcastle region and beyond.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Support the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of excellent standard of evidence based, person centred patient care
* Demonstrate professional practice as evidence by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements and Healthscope's polices and processes
* Foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team with their professional development and maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development and providing supervision and teaching to peers, ENs, graduates and students
* Act as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices
* Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the health care continuum
* Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes
Qualifications
* Current Registration with AHPRA & Working rights in Australia
* 5+ years experience in an acute surgical or cardiac ward setting
* A degree of exposure and experience in a HDU or ICU setting
* Commitment to Quality Patient Care
* Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
* Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Works well independently and within a team
Desirable
* 3+ years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute ICU, or HDU setting
* Post Graduate Certificate in ICU, HDU, or CCU (or working towards) is desirable

Salary
Salary: Based on years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives' – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary range of $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
