Position Title: Mental Health Clinical Manager (South West)
Location: Bunbury or Busselton
Employment Type: Part Time 0.8 FTE, will increase to 0.9 FTE from 1st July 2026
Contract Type: Permanent contract
Summary: The Mental Health Clinical Manager in the South West is responsible for leading and overseeing the service's Clinical Team, to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality mental health services across the region.
The role provides leadership, direction, mentorship, and clinical support to the team while maintaining best practice frameworks, clinical standards, and continuous service improvement. The position works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance mental health outcomes within the community.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to clinicians in the organisation's South West Mental Health Programs to ensure safe, sustainable and effective delivery of services.
* Ensure delivery of services reflects high standards of clinical governance consistent with the organisation's Clinical Governance Framework.
* Provide clinical advice to internal and external stakeholders and represent the organisation at mental health forums and activities within the region.
* Represent the organisation on relevant clinical forums/committees to provide clinical expertise for the development of mental health services.
* Attend and contribute to the organisation's Clinical Governance Committee meetings.
* Complete SW Mental Health Clinicians' performance appraisals.
* Establish, develop and review systems, protocols and procedures for high‐quality service delivery across the region.
* Assist with investigation and resolution of incidents, complaints, clinical risks and adverse events related to services under the supervision of the General Manager of Clinical Operations.
* Maintain accreditation and support the team in relevant accreditation processes.
* Identify new business opportunities and liaison with stakeholders to develop collaborative relationships.
* Oversee the triage of referrals to ensure timely assessment and monitor clinician caseloads to maintain safe practice standards, including documentation.
* Facilitate timely clinical reviews of service clients and provide internal clinical supervision to the team.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
* Mental Health Registered Nurse, or
* Mental Health Accredited Social Worker, or
* Registered Psychologist (Therapist).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a clinical mental health role.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment.
* Excellent understanding of mental health legislation and policies in Australia.
* Current Western Australian Driver's Licence.
* National Police Clearance.
* Approved Working with Children Check WA.
* Pre‐Employment Health Assessment.
* Current registration with AHPRA or AASW (Social Workers).
