The Opportunity

The Director – NDIS & Community Services is a critical member of the Newcastle Anglican Senior Leadership Team. This role operates across the Director NDIS and Director Community & Allied Health portfolios, providing integrated strategic and operational oversight across both service areas. Accountability for service delivery remains with the respective Directors. The role supports the setting of direction, monitoring outcomes, strengthening operating models, driving commercial and service improvement initiatives, and ensuring robust compliance and risk management frameworks are in place.

Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and operational oversight across NDIS, Community Care and Allied Health services to ensure alignment with organisational strategy, performance expectations and approved business plans
* Contribute to the development and oversight of integrated growth, reform and operating plans that strengthen sustainability, competitiveness and service value
* Monitor financial, operational, workforce, quality and safety performance across the portfolios, intervening early through leadership channels where risks or underperformance emerge
* Provide leadership, guidance and accountability to the managers responsible for frontline service delivery, while maintaining clear separation from direct day-to-day delivery responsibility
* Ensure robust governance, compliance, risk management and reporting frameworks are implemented and maintained across NDIS, aged care, community and allied health requirements
* Partner with Finance and other corporate functions to optimise funding models, budget performance, resource allocation and commercial decision‐making
* Identify continuous improvement, process enhancement and operational integration opportunities that improve productivity, consistency and consumer outcomes across both areas
* Develop business cases, recommendations and performance reports for Executive and Board consideration as required
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Management, Business, Health, Human Services or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience
* National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider relevance of any reported outcomes)
* Current Working with Children Check (with clearance to work with children)
* Australian work rights
* Demonstrated senior leadership experience providing strategic and operational oversight across complex human services, health, disability, aged care and/or community service environments
* Experience in commercial reform, business improvement and achieving growth, performance and sustainability targets
* Advanced business acumen with the ability to interpret financial, operational, quality and workforce data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
* High‐level knowledge of the NDIS, aged care, community services and/or allied health sectors, including funding models, regulatory obligations, accreditation requirements and industrial considerations
* Demonstrated capability to lead senior managers and multidisciplinary leaders, strengthening accountability, governance, performance and continuous improvement
* Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, risk management and organisational change within a multi‐site service environment
* Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and report at executive level
