Job Overview
The Financial Accountant role at Myer is a vital position within the Financial Reporting Team, responsible for ensuring the integrity of the general ledger. The successful candidate will have a focus on accounting for inventory, payroll and fixed assets, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
About the Role:
* Accounting for key profit and loss and balance sheet accounts relating to payroll, inventory and fixed assets.
* Preparation of monthly journals, budgets, forecasts and general ledger reconciliations.
* Related commentary preparation for the monthly Board report.
* Inventory related information analysis and provision as and when required during each month.
* Capital projects accounting process coordination and management.
* Interim and year-end external audit process support.
* Assistance in preparing the interim and year-end Myer financial report.
* Analytical review of financial results.
* Associated Board reporting assistance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
CPA/CA qualified or equivalent experience is preferred. A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role is also required. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, self-driven, and possess a strong attention to detail.
