About the Role
The Supervising Technical Assistant — Art, Design and Technology (ADT) provides operational, technical and workshop support to the Art, Design and Technology Faculty within the Senior School. The role contributes directly to the effective delivery of practical teaching and learning programs through the preparation, maintenance and safe operation of specialist learning environments, equipment, machinery and technical resources.
Working collaboratively with teachers and operational colleagues, the Supervising Technical Assistant supports high-quality student learning experiences by ensuring that workshops, studios and associated facilities are organised, compliant and operationally prepared. The role also contributes to the safe and effective management of resources, materials, exhibitions, extracurricular activities and technical systems across the Faculty.
About You
You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:
* Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety principles, risk management processes and safe operational practices within workshop and studio environments
* Demonstrated experience in the safe operation, preparation and maintenance of workshop machinery, studio equipment, tools and specialist technical resources relevant to Art, Design and Technology
* Strong organisational capability with the ability to coordinate technical operations, manage competing priorities and maintain effective oversight of materials, resources, inventory and operational workflows
* Demonstrated technological literacy across a range of applications and operational systems
* Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage positively and professionally with students, colleagues, suppliers and members of the broader School community
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a Faculty environment to achieve shared educational and operational outcomes
* Capacity to support student learning and practical engagement through responsive technical assistance, professional guidance and a service-oriented approach
* A proactive and solution-focused approach to operational effectiveness, facility management and continuous improvement across Faculty systems and practices.

* A current National Police Check
