Centacare Family Services have an exciting opportunity and are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced Project Officers to join our volunteering team to work with the Carnarvon Community, whilst being based in Geraldton. This position will be working within the community to develop local volunteering opportunities with both volunteers and volunteer involving organisations.
This is a part-time position working 10 hours per week in Geraldton, and a requirement to travel to Carnarvon every quarter where extra hours will be required. This position offers a flexible roster which will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Key Functions
Connect with Volunteering Organisations and Community groups to develop volunteering opportunities.
Connect community members with volunteering opportunities.
Work within the Community Volunteer Service team to promote and increase the awareness, participation and understanding of volunteering within the community.
Provide access to national and/ or local training and resources to support volunteers and VIOs. These resources will include working safely and ethically with volunteers.
Qualifications
Formal qualification in Community Services; or working towards.
Experience
Strong IT skills, including experience with data entry.
Sound verbal and written communication.
Previous experience working with clients or members of the public.
Experience working with volunteers would be an advantage but is not essential.
Ability to work within the philosophy and ethos of Centacare.
A remuneration package based on the SCHCADS Award 2010 plus superannuation will be provided based on skills and experience.
Level 3.1, $37.35 /per hour
