About the Role
* This position is for weekend work assisting the OT department in providing a seven‐day acute service. Due to weekend working, this role requires staff to work autonomously.
* The weekend Occupational Therapist has responsibility for providing integrated, patient‐centered and evidence‐based OT services to patients across St Vincent's Hospital Campus.
* The clinical specialty areas served include General Medicine/Surgery, Cardiology, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Stroke, Neurology and Neurosurgery inpatient acute wards.
* This position operates under the supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist. Direct clinical supervision varies by experience and task.
* Level 1/2 Occupational Therapists are encouraged to participate in workplace education, quality improvement activities and relevant research.
* This position may also assist in developing policies and procedures and supervise OT students on placement.
About You
* Qualified and AHPRA‐registered Occupational Therapist.
* Provide integrated, patient‐centered and evidence‐based OT services to inpatients across St Vincent's Hospital campus, including taking new referrals, reviewing patients and continuing therapy in the relevant clinical area. This is weekend work to facilitate a seven‐day acute service.
* Demonstrate effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, working within a multi‐disciplinary team to manage clinical care autonomously.
* Demonstrate effective time‐management and organisational skills to prioritise both clinical and non‐clinical tasks within finite resources, ensuring delivery of optimum standards.
* Participate in regular clinical supervision to ensure work aligns with role requirements.
* Evaluate OT services, collecting appropriate activity data and outcome information.
