About the Team

About the Opportunity
The role will project manage & provide technical engineering advice and analysis in relation to wayside systems and management to internal and external customers, strengthening ARTC's position as an industry leader in rail safety, reliability, and customer focused solutions.

As Project Engineer, you'll lead end-to-end delivery - installing trackside devices, deploying integrated systems, and managing everything from software and civil works to contractors, design, budgets, and schedules. Your work will shape the future of rail reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* To deliver system changes and processes to support Wayside monitoring to schedule and budget.
* Develop, execute and document the project management plan, including resource allocation and schedule / cost tracking.
* Regularly assess the effectiveness of the quality and performance of Wayside activities.
* Collaborate with team members to develop project scopes in accordance with relevant ARTC standards and oversee procurement processes, including preparation, coordination, and evaluation of supplier quotations.
* Undertake analysis of proposals for wayside management systems and processes including financial and risk analysis.
* Assist in development and execution of the implementation plan for any new systems or processes.
* Ensure project activities follow ARTC processes and standard, including risk / change management and quality, safety and environmental compliance.
* Collaborate with internal and external technical teams to align project scope with stakeholder interests.
* Manage and coordinate contractor, supplier and site teams to achieve safety, environmental, specification, design and contractual requirements.
What do we want from you?
* Degree in Civil or Mechanical or Railway Engineering and/or eligible for chartered membership of Engineers, Australia (or equivalent experience).
* Significant experience in project managing high level projects.
* Knowledge of or an awareness of Work Health and Safety principles and relevant rail legislation.
* Demonstrated ability to produce reports and papers.
* Ability to work without direct supervision or instruction.
* Demonstrated ability in design management.
