What will I be doing in the role? As a current Bronze award holder, the University of Queensland is proud to be on the pathway to a Silver award under the SAGE Athena SWAN gender equity, diversity and inclusion program a for the Australian higher education and research sector. In this role, you will coordinate institutional reporting and accreditation activities, including the SAGE Athena SWAN program and Workplace Gender Equality Agency submissions. You will also: Develop and deliver initiatives that embed equity, diversity and inclusion across the University’s culture, policies and practices. Provide expert advice to stakeholders at all levels to support inclusive decision-making, strategic planning and policy development. Support and collaborate with employee-led networks, committees and key partners to foster a more inclusive, respectful and psychologically safe workplace. Strong understanding of EDI principles, legislation, and best practice – including intersectionality and inclusive workplace cultures. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage, influence and advise diverse stakeholders. Confidence working with data and evidence to inform strategy, drive continuous improvement, and meet reporting requirements. A proactive, collaborative and values-led approach, with a genuine passion for creating a fairer, more inclusive workplace. Experience with frameworks such as SAGE Athena SWAN, WGEA, or other external equity programs will be highly regarded.
