Job Description
We are currently seeking a Casual Commis Chef to join the professional and dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis Chef you will get to work within a dynamic hotel F&B operation across breakfast, lunch & dinner, helping to create memorable culinary moments for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
* Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.
* Keep all working areas clean and tidy including washing dishes and kitchen cleaning. Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the Head Chef.
Qualifications
* Trade qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel or restaurant environment - experience in dinner service required.
* Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
* Exemplary communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and understanding of HACCP.
