Senior Business Manager (Operational Support)

Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in the vibrant North Queensland Region invites you to lead operational support functions from Cloncurry, overseeing administration, fleet and facilities management, travel coordination and governance across a region of 546,000 people and contributing to key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, mining and fishing.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage operational support teams, ensuring efficient delivery of fleet management, administration, document and facilities management, and travel coordination.
- Develop and implement strategic and operational plans that align with organisational objectives, project delivery outcomes and stakeholder requirements.
- Establish governance frameworks ensuring compliance with state‑wide policies, legislation and standards.
- Drive organisational improvements by implementing improvement‑focused initiatives and strategic plans.
- Manage and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of empowerment, inclusion and accountability.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance collaboration and service delivery across a large geographical region.
- Model and promote a workplace that values gender equality, inclusivity, respectful relationships, employee safety and cultural diversity.

Mandatory Requirements

- Criminal history screening.
- “C” class driver’s licence.

Desired Qualifications

- Proven leadership and coordination skills with the ability to implement best‑practice business support services.
- Experience in driving operational and organisational change.
- High‑level consultation, negotiation and relationship‑building skills with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to workplace inclusivity, safety and ethical practices.
- Willing and able to travel across the North Queensland Region as required.
