Job Overview

The role of a Disability Inclusion Leader involves leading the development and implementation of strategies to promote accessibility and inclusion in schools.

This includes coordinating staff to achieve improvements in teaching and learning, using processes that develop knowledge, practice and professional engagement in others.

* Fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity in the school community.
* Developing and implementing policies and procedures to support students with disabilities.
* Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to provide inclusive education practices.
* Providing guidance and support to students with disabilities to ensure their participation in all aspects of school life.
* Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of disability inclusion initiatives.



Key Responsibilities

Leading Whole-School Improvement Initiatives: Coordinate staff to achieve improvements in teaching and learning, using processes that develop knowledge, practice and professional engagement in others.

Implementing Whole-School Improvement Strategies: Develop and implement policies and procedures to support students with disabilities.

Developing Individual and Team Development Plans: Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to provide inclusive education practices.

Reviewing and Managing Staff Performance and Development: Provide guidance and support to students with disabilities to ensure their participation in all aspects of school life.

Teaching Demonstration Lessons: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of disability inclusion initiatives.

Developing Assessment and Reporting Policies and Practices: Foster a culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity in the school community.

Implementing Student Welfare and Discipline Policies: Ensure that all students have equal access to education and resources.

Leading Curriculum Development in Major Learning Areas: Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement inclusive curriculum.

Managing General Discipline Matters Beyond Classroom Teachers: Provide guidance and support to students with disabilities to ensure their participation in all aspects of school life.

Contributing to Overall Leadership and Management: Foster a culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity in the school community.
