Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian – Peninsula Vet Emergency & Referral Hospital

At Peninsula Vet Emergency & Referral Hospital, we're looking for an experienced ECC Veterinarian to join our referral hospital team.
You'll be part of a multidisciplinary specialist hospital that includes ECC, surgery, anaesthesia, and an attached GP clinic meaning the cases you see in emergency are true emergencies.

About the Role
You'll be working across a structured 4-week rotating roster of days, evenings, overnights, and weekends, alongside an experienced ECC Vet Team Leader and a diverse ECC team including vets with memberships, internship experience, and developing clinicians.
Our caseload is uniquely diverse — from metro-style emergencies to rural presentations. On any given shift you might treat snake bites, blocked cats, blowfish ingestions, high‐rise cats, GDVs, or pets kicked by horses. We are also recognised for our work with brachycephalic patients, and our collaborative culture ensures every discipline works together to provide the highest level of patient care.
About You
* 2+ years of emergency practice experience (preferred)
* Confidence in approaching emergency cases and performing emergency procedures and soft tissue surgery (or the motivation to develop these skills with our support)
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and time‐management skills
* A strong passion for ECC and commitment to ongoing learning
* An interest in teaching and mentoring as a University of Melbourne core rotation site, we take pride in supporting interns, residents, and the next generation of vets
