Job Placement Coach – Transition to Work

Overview

Join our Transition to Work team in Browns Plains as a Job Placement Coach and make an impact on the lives of young people by providing pre‐employment support with the aim of gaining employment.

yourtown is a trusted provider of services for young people, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing, long‐term unemployment, prevention of youth suicide, child protection, as well as support for those experiencing domestic and family violence.

About the Role

As the Job Placement Coach, you will be part of a support team that works together with the young person and will focus on building their skills, confidence and readiness to enter employment through targeted and tailored activities. In this role, you will use your customer service skills and ability to build working relationships to support them to gain skills that will lead them to meaningful, sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities
* Delivering tailored, outcome‐driven employment services, including assessment, pathway development, employer outreach, and ongoing support for sustainable employment.
* Completing intake assessments with the participant to determine work readiness.
* Working in collaboration with the member to set goals and implement strategies.
* Source and match employment opportunities for young people using a strengths‐based, client‐centred approach.
* Job matching, cold calling, and reverse marketing the young person to employers.
What We're Looking For
* Employment Services experience and/or a bubbly and enthusiastic individual with the drive to support young people on their journey to employment.
* A solid understanding of the local labour market as well as the barriers faced by disadvantaged young people.
* The drive to meet KPIs – it isn't just a number; it is a young person's life that you help change for the better.
* Proficient skills in using technology and systems; our compliance requirements are high, and your administration needs to be on par with this.
* Great employer engagement skills – you love cold calling and reverse marketing.
* Your practice is client focused, our young people are at the heart of it, and you genuinely want to make a difference in their lives.
* Are adaptable by nature – no two days are the same in Transition to Work.
Our Program

Transition to Work (TtW) is the Australian Government's youth specialist employment service that supports young people to develop practical skills to gain employment or connect with education or training. At yourtown, we understand everyone is unique – and so is their journey to finding work. We don't just help with the job hunt. We provide tailored, youth‐focused support for young people to get work, skills and practical help to transform their lives.
