The successful candidate will be part of a pioneering initiative at the University of Queensland, contributing to the National Quantum Computing Testbed. Our research aims to drive innovation in quantum computing and deliver real-world solutions through collaboration with industry, academia, and government partners.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated researcher to work on developing next-generation quantum technologies. You will be responsible for:
* Conducting innovative research in quantum software platforms, focusing on quantum compilers, algorithms, and hardware-agnostic solutions;
* Collaborating across teams and with external partners to drive impactful research and technology development;
* Producing high-quality research outputs, including publications, patents, and technical presentations at conferences;
* Developing and demonstrating research prototypes at key events, applying design thinking and impact-focused methodologies;
* Analysing and managing complex datasets using relevant quantum and data science techniques.
Key Responsibilities
You will report to a Team Leader, Senior Research Scientists and Engineers, and be expected to:
* Support proposal development and contribute to new research directions aligned with strategic priorities;
* Engage in continuous professional development and adhere to policies on conduct, safety, and diversity.
