Description
Lives Lived Well offer a variety of community and residential Alcohol and Other Drug programs throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia, helping thousands of people every year to navigate alcohol and other drug (AOD) related challenges and move forward in life.
A new Residential AOD Treatment Facility designed to deliver high-quality, specialist residential AOD treatment services for adults aged 18 years and over is opening in Ipswich. The centre will provide a total of 46 beds, comprising 36 beds for residential rehabilitation and 10 beds for withdrawal management and care.
The service will be operational at the end of November 2025, so preferred start date for this role is late-October.
Your Opportunity
As a Registered Nurse you’ll be at the heart of our 36-bed live-in rehabilitation program, supporting clients as they engage in structured recovery for 6 to 12 weeks. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team – including our Withdrawal Nurses, Treatment Facilitators, Pre and Post Workers, and Support Workers – to provide holistic, person-centred care to clients navigating long-term recovery.
This is a permanent, full-time position (Monday–Friday) with an hourly rate of $54–$58, plus superannuation, salary packaging up to $15,900 per year, and access to ongoing training and development.
LLW is proud to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and diverse communities. We invite you to apply and help us build a workplace that reflects and respects our shared values.
What we are looking for
Bringing experience in the AOD, Mental Health or Aged Care sector - you will have the clinical knowledge and skills to ensure clients physical health, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in intensive and structured recovery activities. Key clinical duties include:
· Clinical assessments and effective nursing interventions including GP referrals and liaising with pharmacists
· Providing intake support and transition of clients into the Residential service including assessment and development of care and transition plans
· Medication management including documentation and governance
· Managing regular Nurse Clinics including client check-ups and medication review
· Ability to deliver group sessions, engage clients in counselling conversations and retain them in treatment
· We operate under the Aged Care legislation so an understanding of this model would be beneficial
You will need to have a tertiary qualification in Nursing and hold current AHPRA registration.
Coupled with your clinical skill set, you will also have:
· An understanding of how Residential Care works and be comfortable in this environment, which can include challenging situations
· Excellent rapport building skills – you’ll be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, so strong working relationships are important
· A genuine dedication to helping people to reduce their substance use and improve their life journey
· A flexible, open, and engaging approach – you’ll be working with a range of clients with differing needs and complexities
· Strong communication skills, ability to self-manage and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
· An inclusive attitude and a background working with diverse groups including CALD, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
· Good computer skills and ability to manage administrative tasks, including adding documentation to our CRM (HIVE) and medical system (HELIX)
You’ll also resonate with our values, and evidence them in your day to day working life:
- We are humble, human, and full of hope
- We show up and share
- We ask “Why not” and “What’s next?”
- We leave a positive wake
