Library Assistant – Temporary Part-Time (18 hours per week), 2026
Holy Name Primary School – Forster is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Library Assistant for a temporary part‑time position in 2026. The role requires 18 hours per week, scheduled across Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with some flexibility for the right candidate.
Located in the stunning Manning Valley at the heart of the Great Lakes region, Holy Name Primary School is a vibrant Catholic community serving over 300 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Job Description
- Support teachers and students using library facilities and resources.
- Assist nominated staff in carrying out their duties.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated understanding of Catholic Education and commitment to the Church’s mission in schools.
- Recent experience working in a school library and working knowledge of the OLIVER cataloguing system.
- Knowledge of WHS requirements in a library setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to task completion amid frequent interruptions.
Qualifications
- ALIA accredited qualification, preferably at diploma level.
- Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
- Completion of anaphylaxis training.
Conditions of Employment
Salary is in accordance with the Current South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
