Job Overview
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will administer and manage the professional and operational resources of the clinic in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager. Under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide mentoring and leadership to the Nursing Team, maintain your own professional development, support colleagues, and facilitate achievement of specific KPIs developed by the Specialist Clinics Management Team. This is a permanent, part‐time role of 32 hours per week, based in Fitzroy.
Responsibilities
* Daily coordination of clinical and staffing matters in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager
* Act as a clinical role model by providing the highest standard of direct patient care
* Provide supervision and assistance to nursing staff working in Specialist Clinics
* Actively participate in the orientation, mentor/preceptor ship of all new staff
* Actively participate in team meetings and chair meetings in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager
* Actively participate in quality improvement projects
Qualifications
Essential
* Degree in general nursing that meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role
* Experience in relevant clinical areas
* Leadership qualities with proven ability to direct, enthuse, encourage and manage a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
* Completion of or working towards a postgraduate qualification in a relevant area
* Experience of involvement in quality improvement
Classification
Classifications for this position will range between YW11 – YW12 ($106,834.00 – $110,432.10 per annum pro rata).
