We have an exciting opportunity for an AOD Counsellor to provide therapeutic support to people at risk of harm due to alcohol and other drug use, including a specific focus on young people, pregnant people and parents with young children. The AOD counsellor will be a part of a specialist AOD multidisciplinary team based in Singleton and servicing the surrounding communities. This AOD support service is funded by the Commonwealth Government to 30 June 2027.

The successful candidate will have:

- Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or equivalent relevant experience
- At least 2 years demonstrated experience in the area of AOD and mental health
- Knowledge and experience in the provision of evidence-based therapeutic services to people at risk of harm due to AOD misuse and the ability to apply a trauma-informed and person-centred approach to these services.
- Experience participating in and actively contributing to multiservice case review meetings with psychologists, psychiatrists, allied health professionals, local health district staff and other relevant government and non-government organisations.
- Excellent relationship, negotiation and conflict management skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with service providers, staff, peers and key stakeholders in the local community
- Experience in implementing and monitoring of quality assurance processes across customer service programs, including feedback informed treatment, program review and risk management.
