About the Company Our client is a non-bank lender and investment fund manager that partners with wholesale investors and Family Offices, offering expertise in property and financial solutions. They specialise in syndicated first mortgage debt facilities, leveraging years of experience to collaborate with alternative lenders. The management team brings deep knowledge in property development, banking, and commercial debt, with a strong focus on areas such as property equity, senior and mezzanine debt, preferred equity, and hybrid debt instruments. They oversee an unregistered, open-ended Unit Trust tailored for wholesale investors. The Fund targets lending opportunities, providing rigorously assessed first mortgage finance for residential, commercial, and industrial property projects in Australia, with a focus on underserved loans between $3 million and $20 million. They enable investment into diversified first mortgage loans on specific properties. This flexible approach lets investors tailor their participation by selecting individual loans, effectively managing associated risks and returns. Position Overview: We are seeking a driven Credit Analyst with strong analytical skills and a passion for investment management and property finance. You will support the investment team with research, financial analysis, and portfolio management, handling deal evaluations, due diligence, transaction execution, and compliance. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, including banks, lawyers, property developers, and industry professionals. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the loan origination team to assess and structure transactions; Assess capitalisation rates to value income-generating properties based on projected returns; Perform residual land valuations to determine the worth of undeveloped land, factoring in costs and profits; Deliver detailed insights and recommendations from valuation analyses to aid investment decisions; Conduct comprehensive market research on investment opportunities in residential, commercial, and industrial property sectors within non-bank lending; Support transaction due diligence through financial modelling, risk evaluations, and scenario analyses; Analyse financial statements, market trends, and economic indicators to guide decisions; Create in-depth credit papers detailing borrower risk profiles and transaction creditworthiness; Present credit papers to the Investment Review Committee for approval as needed; Develop robust financial models to support informed credit decisions, evaluating project feasibility, asset structures, and associated risks and returns; Build and nurture strong relationships with brokers, borrowers, and other stakeholders in the non-bank lending sector; Represent the firm at PCG meetings for ongoing investment transactions; Ensure the sales force database is consistently updated with precise and up-to-date information; Possess expertise in commercial credit products, market trends, and loan processes; Exhibit excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities, building and sustaining strong client and business relationships. Technical Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is required; a master’s degree or certifications such as CFA or CAIA are advantageous. 4–5 years of experience in investment analysis, financial research, or similar fields is essential. Familiarity with the non-bank lending sector and property market / property finance is highly preferred. Proficiency in analytical thinking, quantitative analysis, and advanced financial modeling is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information, are a must. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines effectively. Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with multitasking skills to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines comfortably. Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis software. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
