Overview
Parkville College is a multi‐campus school delivering education in custody and secure care settings. The role is a fixed‐term full‐time Classroom Teacher, with duties including teaching, lesson planning, curriculum development, and supporting staff through mentoring and data‐driven instruction.
Responsibilities
* Direct teaching of student groups and individual students.
* Plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and other approved programmes.
* Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum areas.
* Support staff via mentorship, coaching, and training of student teachers.
* Use student data to inform instructional strategies and improve student learning outcomes.
* Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, and other school activities.
* Perform non‐teaching supervisory duties as directed by the School Principal.
Qualifications
* Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, with current Permission To Teach.
* Current and valid CertificateIV in Training and Assessment.
* Minimum CertificateII in Visual Arts or equivalent Art/Design/Media qualification.
* Evidence of subject content knowledge and pedagogical practice for diverse learners.
* Experience with literacy and numeracy strategies and high‐impact teaching approaches.
* Experience using assessment data to drive instruction and provide feedback to students and parents.
Selection Criteria
* SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum, including literacy and numeracy teaching, and response to student learning needs.
* SC2: Demonstrated experience planning and implementing high‐impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth.
* SC3: Demonstrated experience monitoring and assessing student learning; using data to inform practice and provide feedback.
* SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the community.
* SC5: Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes aligned with Department values; engaging in professional learning and reflective practice.
* SC6: Evidence of culturally responsive practice in an educational setting.
