Ferny Grove State High School is looking for a strategic, relational leader who is ready for their next challenge as a principal within a large school setting.
Head of School will lead the Capability and Development portfolio and the role will be responsible for developing, implementing and embedding a culture of lifelong learning, growth and leadership across the student and staff body.
This is a temporary full-time position until 11 December 2026 unless otherwise determined. The role will be for 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

As the Head of School - Capability and Development, you will deliver a Culture of Excellence and develop Leaders of Learning, as part of the school's strategic plan. You will ensure the school continues to deliver upon its vision, where every individual discovers their passion on their learning pathway, fostering an inclusive and respectful community that cultivates knowledgeable, resilient and culturally-connected individuals.
This role will work with staff and students to identify what makes the school unique, translate this into a culture of high performance, and create structures, processes and mechanisms to support ongoing professional development and lifelong learning. It will be forward-thinking and future-focused, aiming to ensure staff retention, development and talent acquisition. The role has a deliberate focus on people development, supporting learners and leaders. The goal is to "make the people" by investing in staff to deliver quality outcomes for students.
The role will also be responsible for the strategic implementation of the school timetable, human resourcing acquisition, and developing leaders into learners and learners into leaders.
