Responsibilities
* Ensure the provision of an appropriate and safe standard of clinical care.
* Assume responsibility for providing leadership, direction and co‐ordination of patient care.
* Ensure the effective functioning of the nursing team in the co‐ordination of each team member providing care.
* Ensure all nursing staff in the ward practice safely, are competent and work within their scope of practice.
* Assist the Nurse Manager to ensure that the ward is managed effectively and within budget allocation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated advanced interpersonal and communication skills including problem solving, balancing competing demands and conflict resolution.
* Demonstrated ability to engage, enable and manage teams.
* Demonstrated relevant clinical nursing experience with postgraduate nursing qualifications in specialty or management, or working towards the same.
* Understanding of the complexities of the paediatric tertiary referral environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of health care services.
* High level computer literacy.
