About Us :

At-Call Safety Wear is a leading nationwide provider of safety equipment, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and workwear. We are committed to the safety and efficiency of Australian workers. Due to the strategic growth of our retail operations, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Manager to take full responsibility for the performance and day-to-day management of our Melton retail store.


The Role :

This is a management position. The Retail Manager will be responsible for organising, controlling, and leading the retail store's operations. You will drive sales, manage staff, control inventory, and implement strategies to ensure the store's commercial success and operational excellence. This role is distinct from our head office management functions and is critical to the frontline performance of our business.


Key Responsibilities :


1. Store Management & Operational Control :

* Organise and control the overall operations of the retail store.
* Develop and implement local sales and marketing initiatives to drive foot traffic and increase revenue.
* Analyse sales figures and forecast future sales to inform business planning.


2. Financial Management & Budgeting :

* Manage the store's budget, including controlling operational costs and maximizing profitability.
* Take responsibility for the store's financial performance, reporting directly to the General Manager.
* Establish and monitor store-level pricing strategies within company guidelines.


3. Staff Management & Leadership :

* Lead, recruit, train, and supervise the retail sales team.
* Prepare staff rostering and assign specific duties to team members.
* Manage staff performance, conduct appraisals, and foster a high-performance culture.


4. Product & Inventory Management :

* Oversee product selection and stock levels for the store to meet local customer demand.
* Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocktakes, and minimizing stock loss.
* Ensure the visual merchandising of the store is maintained to a high standard.


5. Customer Service Standards & Compliance :

* Oversee and ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service by the entire team.
* Resolve complex customer inquiries or complaints that are escalated by team members.
* Ensure the store's compliance with all company policies and occupational health and safety regulations.


Qualifications and Skills :

* Proven experience in a retail management role, with demonstrated experience in staff supervision.
* Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
* Excellent leadership and people management skills.
* Ability to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies.
* Knowledge of safety equipment or related industries is highly regarded.
* Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities.
