Mental Health Specialist

This role supports a high‑performing, customer‑responsive team within the Personal Injury Team at EML Solutions. It works strategically under a Mental Health Claims Management Framework with both employer and employee to reduce the impact of mental injury and the cost of the claim.
This is a full‑time, permanent position based in our Brisbane office, with flexibility to work from home up to three days per week once training has commenced.
Your Responsibilities
- Support workers with a mental injury for the first 12 weeks and at periodic points during the life of the claim.
- Early engagement with all stakeholders to identify barriers to recovery and return to work following lodgement of a mental injury claim.
- Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to develop and support an individualised strategy, based on best practice solutions to expedite recovery and return to work.
- Support the Claims Operations Team in efficient and effective gathering of information to accept reasonable and necessary treatment in line with the clinical framework.
- Maintain awareness of industry developments and trends and assist the business in responding effectively to changes.
- Support the business in implementing programs that drive continuous improvement, foster innovation, and embed industry best practice across the wider business.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a similar or clinical role working in a fast‑paced business environment.
- Tertiary studies in Allied Health (Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work, Occupational Therapy with a mental health background).
- Excellent understanding of mental health injuries with experience working in workers compensation and/or personal injury industries.
- Experience with managing physical injuries is advantageous.
- Strong complex case management capabilities with focus on return to work, mental health and medically complex cases.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others, fostering capability development.
- Qualifications in Mediation and/or Mental Health First Aid are considered advantageous.
