Compensation Range: $109,274 - $157,368

Purpose of the Position:

This position is responsible for supervising and leading effective instruction, working with school administration in designing and implementing \"best practice\" instructional systems. To assist in aligning curriculum, instruction, research, assessment and supporting resources to assure the school system provides a learning environment for all students that provides a quality education experience. Oversees the development, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations of K-12 curriculum department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Curriculum, Instruction and Accountability Staff and departments.

Duty and Responsibilities:
* Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
* Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
* Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
* Oversees district continuous improvement activities and supports district departments in developing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives.
* Leads the Academic Return on Investment (AROI) process in conjunction with the Superintendent and Cabinet.
* Monitors the execution of AROI projects.
* Ensures established processes are followed for Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) which includes partnering with the Manager of the Superintendent's Office for cabinet meetings and approval timelines.
* Ensures timely and accurate communication regarding school accountability initiatives, and district initiatives.
* Analyzes and interprets data pertaining to school accountability, the three tiers of PDSAs, and the district quality monitoring system.
* Leads the Continuous Improvement team on process improvement priorities and Continuous Improvement projects directly related to school and district accountability and improvement initiatives and quality monitoring, which includes Quality Peer Review (QPR).
* Gathers and analyzes data to lead district wide decisions and system alignment.
* Leads and works with key leaders to develop and implement annual and 5 year strategic plans.
* Directs, supervises, and manages the various aspects of the District's accountability system.
* Manages surveys in the district. This includes but is not limited to surveys from distribution to data analysis as part of the state accountability process.
* Ensures data quality and integrity for all district internal and state accountability systems and accountability dashboards.
* Ensures implementation of district initiatives and strategic plan through improvement methods including but not limited to Project Management, Continuous Improvement Science, and Process Improvement.
* Develops and leads trainings as part of state accountability systems.
* Executes the RPS 205 Curriculum Design Process which includes supervising, coordinating, and continuously appraising curriculum changes proposed in grades K-12; aligns and assesses instructional resources for the preparation and recommendation to the Chief School Improvement Officer.
* Conducts an annual curriculum audit of instructional programs and makes appropriate recommendations for change and/or modification.
* Coordinates the district's curriculum development and improvement process within the regulations of the State Department of Education.
* Responsible for district level instructional systems including curriculum, instruction, research and assessment in an environment comprised of an ethnically diverse student body, a sizeable student population of English language learners and a large percentage of students eligible for free and reduced lunch.
* Supervises the alignment of written curriculum, instruction procedure, instructional practices, assessment practice, supervision practice and scheduling practice to achieve the most impact on the widest variety of students in the most efficient manner possible.
* Consults with school principals and coordinators on student assessment and data collection and their use.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Education with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction or school administration required.
* 4 years' experience with school-specific processes and continuous improvement preferred.
* Experience working within a certified educational capacity within the last 4 years is required.

* Knowledge of both Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
* Demonstrated success in previous administrative position.
* Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use the data from assessments to inform changes in curriculum and instruction.
* Demonstrated understanding of best practice approach to curriculum, assessment, and instruction.
* Demonstrated previous success and experience with curriculum in a K-12 situation preferred.
* Knowledge of effective instructional programs and methodology and experience in evaluating such methodologies for effectiveness in meeting state standards for achievement.
* Six Sigma knowledge and/or training.

Work Calendar:

Working Conditions:

Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
