About the role
As the Store Person, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Assets & Maintenance Group. You will play a key role in supporting railway operations by managing the efficient receipt, storage, distribution and control of all rail-specific materials, tools and equipment. This role ensures our maintenance crews and project teams have what they need, when they need it, while maintaining safety, quality and compliance standards.
Key accountabilities
- Assist with stocktake/cycle counting and auditing compliance
- Manage documentation for PO receipts, conformance certificates and delivery dockets
- Oversee stock storage processes, including tagging, boxing, and labelling
- Take delivery of goods and inspect for accuracy and/or damage
- Fill outgoing orders, package and dispatch materials
- Operate lifting gear or forklift machinery for heavy packages
- Deliver materials to maintenance depots or project sites using a company vehicle
- Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP software
- Comply with workplace health and safety policies and actively participate in safety initiatives
About you
You’re a team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. You’ll thrive in a fast paced environment and bring a proactive approach to problem solving.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following
- Intermediate MS Excel and Word skills
- Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems
- Forklift Licence (mandatory)
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Desirable: Certificate III in Transport & Logistics / Warehousing Operations, Medium Rigid Licence, Dangerous goods handling awareness
