About the role
We are seeking an exceptional Cinema Manager to join our Dendy Cinemas team in Canberra. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of the cinema, ensuring high levels of customer service, smooth and efficient day-to-day operations, technical management, implementation of promotional activity, inventory management and staff training and development.
The Cinema Manager reports to the General Manager – Canberra and works closely with internal departments at Head Office.
Key Responsibilities:
* To be responsible for the general operations and administration of the Cinema, carrying out the duties of the manager as provided for in the cinema award.
* Operate the cinema to a high level of efficiency, with a particular focus on maximizing revenue streams, KPI's, cost controls and profitability. Monitor, report on and provide analysis of budgetary requirements.
* To supervise all areas of the cinema whilst on shift, including the supervision of Level 1 - 6 employees.
* To apply quality control techniques and maintain a high level of cleanliness.
* Inventory control.
* Develop and maintain staff training and standards, and rosters.
* Ensure high technical standards are implemented and maintained.
* To assist in developing and implementing promotional activities.
* To perform work independently under limited supervision, either individually or in a team environment.
* To apply intelligent approaches to solving complex problems in a timely and precise manner.
* Initiate and maintain effective relationships with key external stakeholders, existing and potential festival partners, hirers or suppliers, identifying and cultivating program and commercial opportunities.
* Other duties, as directed by the General Manager.
What we're looking for:
* Previous Cinema Management experience.
* Proven record of successful promotional activity, meeting financial targets, and delivering exceptional customer service outcomes.
* Previous experience with cinema digital projection systems a bonus.
* Experience in managing, and leading teams, including staff roster management, recruitment & training.
* Stock control including experience in inventory management and stock take.
* General administration experience, and good computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Initiative and high attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
* Planning, organising and time management skills.
* RSA and First aid certificate.
* A love of quality cinema
* Valid work visa or Australian work rights are required for this position.
