About the Role We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join a dynamic mining operation. This is a unique opportunity to take a leadership role in driving safety initiatives, shaping workplace culture, and making a real impact on operational excellence. You will oversee safety management systems, provide expert guidance, and influence decision-making to maintain a safe, compliant, and innovative work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and continuous improvement of site safety management systems.
Conduct proactive hazard identification and implement innovative solutions to prevent incidents.
Provide strategic safety advice to management and influence operational decisions.
Drive a culture of safety-first by mentoring and coaching team members.
Lead incident investigations with a focus on root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into operational planning and execution.
Monitor, analyse, and report on safety KPIs, identifying trends and implementing improvement strategies.
Champion initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and overall workplace culture.
Requirements
Proven experience in mining or heavy industry safety, ideally in complex operational environments.
Strong knowledge of mining safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to influence at all levels.
Experience leading incident investigations and implementing safety improvement initiatives.
Proactive, solution-focused, and able to drive cultural change.
High level of accountability, integrity, and commitment to fostering a safe workplace.
Relevant safety qualifications or certifications.
