* Part Time (0.6FTE) 12-month fixed term appointment with probable extension for a dedicated Research Assistant

* An opportunity to provide Research support to the Brain and Mind Centre part of the FMH Central Clinical School

* Base Salary (Pro Rata) $89, % superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney's Brain and Mind Centre is a centre for discovery, innovation and integrative research strategies, clinical product development and actions that translate research into improved treatment and disease

prevention strategies. The centre is made up of 27 research units, staffed by around 200 researchers and 100 students.

The Youth Mental Health and Technology team puts young people at the centre of their own care. We partner with health services to develop innovative treatments for those aged 12-25 with emerging mental health

disorders. The integration of cutting-edge research with safe and effective clinical care enables us quickly and effectively translate our research findings into clinical services, facilitating continuous improvements to

mental health services for the benefit of young people in Australia.

We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our Digital Mental Health sub-team and contribute to a clinical trial research project of national significance for youth mental health.

The project applies modern data science methods to build explainable and integrated machine learning models that can be utilised by health services to make real-time, data-informed clinical decisions in youth mental health care.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

* recruiting study participants, and liaising with potential participants, their clinicians and services where appropriate

* conducting diagnostic and qualitative interviews with participants using multiple standardised clinical assessment instruments according to the research protocol

* liaising and communicating with other clinical staff (psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurses, youth workers) and research staff located at the site

* coordinating the collection of data, including assisting other Research staff with data entry, analysis and other administrative tasks

* assisting in presentations to clinical staff and other services to promote and provide information about the research studies

* assisting with the preparation of publications arising from the study.

About you

* undertaking a PhD or has completed an Honours year in psychology or similar field

* demonstrates experience in face-to-face patient interaction, with a mental health focus

* familiar with the administrative requirements of supporting research activities

* possesses strong attention to detail and a focus on quality when working with data

* has experience supporting digital health trials will be highly desirable
