Industrial Placement - Geology/Civil Engineering - Ground Engineering *****)
Within the Ground Engineering team we tackle a full range of technical challenges below the ground, from the design of deep basements and underground caverns to onshore and offshore foundations, remediation of contaminated brownfield sites, stabilization of landslides, and seismic design. We provide ground-related advice to infrastructure and energy projects, delivering sustainable foundation solutions.
Opportunity
In this ***** month internship you will work with members of our ground engineering team, delivering real work to external clients. Your responsibilities will include:
Analyzing geological maps, data, historical information and technical reports to gather and present information.
Planning ground investigation works and visiting sites.
Communicating designs and advice through reports, drawings, presentations and models.
This experience will help you make a positive impact on society through the projects we deliver, and will develop your skills in digital applications, data management, report writing and ground engineering.
Qualifications
Studying or planning to study a degree in Civil Engineering, General Engineering (with an interest in ground engineering), Geology or Earth Science.
Completion of A-level courses in STEM subjects and competence in Maths.
Proficiency with MS Office; an interest in data management and coding is useful.
An interest in engineering and a desire to make a positive impact through your work.
