Overview
Senior Civil Engineer to join the Civil & Transport Infrastructure team in Gladstone, Mackay or Cairns. You will manage the design and documentation on civil and transport infrastructure projects in both the public and private sectors, across an extensive regional client portfolio. You will provide leadership, guidance and assistance in the delivery of projects from concept through to construction, resolving complex site constraints within project parameters and leveraging experience within a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain client relationships, identify new project opportunities and win work.
* Project manage and be technically responsible for large, high-quality planning and design projects (design fees up to $2M), including multi-disciplinary coordination.
* Develop local junior engineers and design personnel.
* Ground truth designs throughout regional Queensland's extensive remote road network.
* Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects through other offices as required.
* Contribute to the development of GHD's knowledge and skills in civil and transport engineering including planning, design and construction.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
* Experience establishing client relationships and winning work
* Excellent project management skills and ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) & Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) – preferred or working towards
* A passion for high-quality design documentation, assessment and analysis of technical data and imparting knowledge through professional development of others
* Knowledge of flood modelling, geotechnical analysis, pavement design and ability to integrate into civil and transport design (preferred)
* Strong communication skills both oral and written (including report writing)
* Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems to brief and budget
* Ability to produce concise and accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, drafting briefs and mark-ups
* Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling, and construction
