Project Overview
The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become Queensland's largest new mine. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non‐Process Infrastructure for Harmony, a world‐class gold and copper mining and development company.
Job Summary
Plan, develop, coordinate and review plant design and piping work on large projects with specialized requirements. Optimize facility layout based on diagrams, client needs, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements. Provide technical input to ensure configuration compliance, procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved. The role is designated as part‐time telework, requiring at least three days of in‐person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
Major Responsibilities
* Evaluate, select, and apply standard plant design and piping engineering methods for small‐size projects or assignments supporting a global business unit or staff group, preparing original designs, layouts, details, drawings and specifications.
* Develop and interpret design criteria and specifications for complex plant design and piping infrastructure in a global business unit.
* Examine and analyze pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance.
* Optimize facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements.
* Analyze problems with conflicting design requirements, sketch ideas and possible solutions.
* Analyze and report on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and difficult coordination requirements.
* Plan, coordinate, or prepare equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations.
* Coordinate plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups.
* Prepare procurement and subcontract requisition documents and perform associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Experience in piping stress analysis using CAESAR II and pipe support selection.
* Strong technical knowledge of construction piping installation, hydro‐testing and pneumatic pipe testing.
* Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Aconex, Unifier, Agile, Navisworks and other automation tools.
* Experience with multidisciplinary interface management and global 3D model oversight.
* Expertise in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
* Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities.
* Experience in design and drafting, including expertise in a lead role or recognized courses in directing personnel.
Working Rights

Requires RPEQ and CPEN certificates.
