About the Opportunity

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Wills & Estates team in Brisbane. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills and a genuine interest in estate planning and estate administration. You'll work closely with our experienced practice leader - recommended in Doyles Guide for Estate Planning and Estate Litigation - and be supported by a skilled and collaborative team.
In this role, you will:
* Liaise directly with clients and manage the new client onboarding process, including gathering key information.
* Diary management and booking initial client appointments.
* Communicate with external stakeholders such as accountants and financial planners to obtain source documents.
* Manage straightforward estate administration matters including probate applications, asset collection, and final distributions.
* Prepare initial drafts of estate planning documents (including Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney), related correspondence and ancillary documents.
* Support administrative functions such as scanning, printing, document collation, archiving, and filing court documents.
* Assist with end of month billing.
* Be part of a large, fun and collaborative national practice group.
About You
You'll ideally bring:
* Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably within a Wills & Estates practice.
* Familiarity with probate or estate administration (highly desirable).
* Strong communication and client service skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and time management.
* Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency with legal practice management systems and Microsoft Office.
* Experience with end of month billing.
