Dollar Sweets has had a long-established history, manufacturing confectionery and cake decorating products since 1947. The manufacturing site is in Pakenham (where this role is based), with some commuting to a brand-new state of the art packing and warehouse facility, minutes away.
We supply all the major retail outlets, food service, and other tier-1 Australian manufacturers. Dollar Sweets is known for its iconic 100s and 1000s that have been enjoyed by Australians for many generations.
About the Role
Our Quality Specialist will help drive the quality of the company's products, the systems that help underpin compliance to customer and regulatory standards and assist the business in building on an already terrific food safety culture.
Duties
* Act as the Quality representative in commissioning NPD projects and new production equipment
* Be hands‐on in verifying and validating quality systems and equipment in a large-scale food manufacturing environment
* Support and lead the development, training, and implementation of new and existing quality systems
* Work collaboratively with Production, NPD and cross‐functional teams to ensure food safety and quality are built into every step
* Participate in regulatory and customer audits
* Use data-driven insights to support continuous improvement across operations and quality systems
Skills & Experience
* 3-4+ years working in quality or technical, ideally in a food manufacturing business
* Tertiary qualifications in food science/technology (highly regarded, but not compulsory)
* A solid understanding of food safety, quality and regulatory requirements (FSANZ, PIFs, HACCP, GFSI etc.)
* A collaborative, team-first mindset with confident stakeholder management skills
* Sound knowledge of key retailer's supplier requirements and specification systems
* Strong attention to detail, with experience in writing policies and procedures
* Practical problem-solving capability with the ability to identify issues and work collaboratively to resolve them
* Demonstrated ability to show initiative, be well organised and self-motivated
