The Role
The Men's Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) is a 20-week, group-based program that invites men who use family violence to take accountability and make positive change to their behaviour. Individual Case Management (ICM) is also available to support men to become ready to enter the group program and provide additional support such as referrals for mental health and drug treatment services.
The purpose of the Family Violence Practitioner role is to assist in the delivery of the MBCP. This includes completing family violence assessments, facilitating the group, and providing individual case management support, in collaboration with the wider community services sector.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Mandatory
* Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Social Work, welfare or other related qualification with relevant industry experience
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to engage with mandated clients.
* Current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee), or the ability to obtain and maintain one prior to commencement.
Preferred
* Knowledge of Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and the Child Information Sharing Scheme and MARAM.
* Knowledge of the local service system and referral pathways, particularly related to family violence.
* Graduate diploma or graduate certificate qualification in men's family violence. Working towards completion or a willingness to enrol within 12 months on commencement of employment.

Employment Conditions
All positions are subject to thorough credentialing and safety screening prior to commencing employment. This includes reference checks and National Police Check for all SCHS employees. Applicants who have resided and worked overseas for more than 12 months may be required to undergo an International Criminal History Check. Where applicable, employees may also be required to hold a current Working With Children check issued in the state of Victoria and have a current NDIS Clearance (NDIS Worker Screening Check).
Department of Health Guidelines for Immunisation of Health Care Workers require all staff to demonstrate immunity to specific preventable diseases. As part of the recruitment process, the preferred applicant is required to provide evidence of immunisation (and/or serology) to confirm they are protected from risk.
