Weekend Chef – Making a Difference at Every Meal
Location: Mayfield, NSW
Schedule: Every Saturday & Sunday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
Status: Permanent Part-Time
About the Role
We believe that great food is one of life's greatest pleasures—and for our residents, it is often the highlight of their day. We're looking for a Weekend Chef who understands that a perfectly poached egg or a beautifully presented roast is an act of care.
In this role, you'll take the lead in our kitchen during the weekends, ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious, high-quality, and delicious meals in a warm, community-focused environment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading the Kitchen: Managing the meal service for lunch and dinner.
* Catering to Everyone: Preparing standard menus alongside specialised textures and dietary requirements with dignity and care.
* Quality Control: Ensuring every plate that leaves the pass meets high standards for taste, temperature, and presentation.
* Compliance: Maintaining kitchen hygiene and food safety records.
* Teamwork: Working alongside a small, dedicated team to create a calm, efficient service.
Who You Are
* A Skilled Professional: You hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
* Experience‐Driven: You've worked in a fast‐paced kitchen; aged care experience is a plus, but a background in hotels, hospitals, or busy cafes is highly valued.
* Empathetic & Patient: You understand that our residents are our priority and are happy to tweak a dish to help someone's day.
* Reliable: You're the "weekend warrior" who takes pride in running a smooth service while weekday management is away.
Why Join Us?
* Work‐Life Balance: No split‐shifts or late‐night finishes. You'll be home in time for dinner.
* Competitive Pay: Weekend penalty rates apply.
* Purpose‐Driven Work: See the immediate impact of your skills on the well‐being of our residents.
* Modern Facilities: Work in a clean, well‐equipped, and supportive environment.
Please note: All applicants must have a current year flu vaccination and undertake a National Criminal History Check.
