ABOUT THE COMPANY. An Inner Southern Sydney Council is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer/Lead to oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the Payroll Team, requiring strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. ABOUT THE POSITION. Immediate start. Initial 6-month opportunity with likelihood of extension. You will oversee end-to-end payroll activities and lead the Payroll team to ensure accurate and consistent payroll delivery. In addition, you will coordinate with stakeholders to provide insight into payroll processes and advise on compliance, awards and agreements, and process improvements. DUTIES.
* Lead and support the Payroll team across end-to-end payroll processes
* Ensure compliance with tax, superannuation, and legislation
* Manage complex payroll queries and resolve exceptions
* Administer leave, entitlements, and maintain payroll records
* Prepare payroll reporting and support process improvements
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
* Demonstrated knowledge using CHRIS21 or iCHRIS
* Relevant tertiary qualifications
* Experience working in Local Council and/or Government preferred
* Minimum 5-7 years experience in end-to-end payroll processing
* High level of attention to detail & problem solving skills
