The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Staff Specialist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the O&G Specialty Departments across the district (NBMLHD).
Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The appointee must demonstrate broad-based generalist experience in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, including intrapartum care, antenatal clinics, Gynaecology theatre, and acute presentations.
The positions will be available within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and may involve working at Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital to meet operational needs and, where relevant, supervisory requirements.

Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
Sound clinical knowledge and experience across the generalist scope of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including intrapartum care and acute Gynaecology, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position, including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the speciality.
High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Staff Specialists (State) Award.
