What You Will Be Working On
Your job will be to make the numbers trusted, timely and useful. You will lead the finance rhythm across reporting, forecasting, cash flow, month‐end, controls and compliance. More importantly, you will help the business understand what the numbers mean and what should happen next.
Your focus will include:
* Delivering clear monthly and quarterly reporting, dashboards and forecasts
* Providing practical variance analysis and financial insight
* Improving cash flow forecasting and working capital discipline
* Supporting board reporting and senior leadership decision‐making
* Analysing performance, margins, pricing and commercial risk
* Strengthening controls, systems, data integrity and finance processes
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
You will be a hands‐on Finance Manager, Financial Controller or senior finance professional who can operate confidently in a small, fast‐moving business.
Your background will matter. This role will strongly suit someone who has worked in environments where operations, customers, projects, assets, cash flow, timing and margins all matter at once. Experience in construction, civil, project‐based services, manufacturing, trades, transport, logistics or another hands‐on operational industry would be highly regarded.
You will bring:
* Strong finance experience in an SME or operational business
* Confidence across reporting, forecasting, cash flow and month‐end with an understanding of the value of structure and processes
* Commercial judgement around performance, margins and risk
* The ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear financial insight
* Initiative to improve systems and processes without overcomplicating them
* A relationship‐led style suited to a small, close‐kith team
You may currently be a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Commercial Manager or hands‐on CFO looking for broader influence.
