Responsibilities
In this role, you will be recognised as an expert clinician, providing advanced clinical advice and leading the development, implementation and evaluation of care for individuals with complex mental health needs. You will work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, consumers and community partners to strengthen service delivery and improve outcomes for parents, infants and families.
This position offers the opportunity to influence clinical practice at both an individual and service level. You will contribute to education, research, and service planning, while promoting a culture of clinical excellence, continuous improvement and safe, high-quality care.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experienced and confident clinician with advanced expertise in perinatal and infant mental health (or a closely related specialty).
* Strong commitment to clinical leadership and service development.
* Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and ability to manage and support care for patients with complex needs.
* Experience developing, implementing and evaluating care plans in a specialised clinical setting.
* Strong leadership capability, with ability to guide, support and influence multidisciplinary teams.
* Commitment to evidence-based practice, including ability to translate research into clinical care.
* Experience contributing to education, supervision and capability building within a clinical workforce.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, consumers and community stakeholders.
* Passion about improving outcomes in perinatal and infant mental health; driven to lead innovation, support best practice and make a meaningful difference in families and communities.
Selection Criteria
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA); at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
* Approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field, or other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
* Experience providing expert clinical advice and leadership within a defined specialty, including developing, implementing and evaluating care plans for patients with complex health needs and supporting safe, compassionate and culturally responsive care.
* Experience contributing to strategic and operational planning within a clinical service, including supporting or delivering specialty-related education programs, integrating research or evidence-based practice into clinical care, and participating in quality improvement, risk management and work health and safety processes.
* Australian C-Class driver's license (incl. P1 or P2). Those holding a C class license from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses not permitted.
