Nursery Sales/Customer Service Coordinator
The Sales/Customer Service Coordinator is an integral part of the sales team. They will be responsible for ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication, order management, and service delivery. This role acts as a key liaison between customers, the sales team, and internal departments; coordinating inquiries, processing orders, resolving issues, and providing accurate and timely information. The position contributes to achieving sales targets, maintaining strong customer relationships, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Essential (technical skills/knowledge)
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in Nursery Sales/Customer Service.
- Excellent plant knowledge (experience with Australian Natives is ideal)
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience with B2B sales and contract management.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient IT skills, ability to use relevant Microsoft Office packages as well as data input/tracking software.
- Ability to deal and adjust to change.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a positive and can-do attitude.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Work across key and emerging markets to service existing clients and acquire recent clients, opportunities and sales, including NRM, waterways, wetland and nature repair markets, councils, general landscape contractors, retail nurseries and Melbourne Skyfarm nursery.
- Deliver a high level of customer service to both our internal and external clients.
- Assist in timely logistics and ensuring customer expectations are maintained.
- Identify new business opportunities.
- Regular visits to existing clients to maintain and build relationships.
- Regular communication with clients to understand their needs.
- Track current and upcoming orders and communicate to production team to ensure production is on track and plants are delivered to clients on time.
- Assist Nursery Sales Manager, admin when required.
- Establishment of clear agreed delivery date and commencement of propagation date in writing with the client, to allow nursery to commence charging propagation deposits, then invoice for other benchmark payments and holding costs if required.
- Provide feedback to production team on quality and appearance of plants produced and delivered.
- Provide regular updates to Nursery Sales manager on targets and KPI's.
- Report back observations on overall nursery function, productivity and improvement on a regular basis (extra set of senior eyes on nursery function to support Nursery Manager, make suggestions of new innovations, equipment and automation to increase nursery output and productivity).
- Regularly attend industry events, monitor market conditions, product innovations, competitors' products, prices, sales, regulatory and legal conditions.
