We're looking for a dynamic and driven Internal Communications Officer to join our Communications team. In this role, you'll help keep our 1,000+ staff informed, connected, and inspired – playing a key role in how we communicate across Council and deliver on our community goals.

The Day-to-day Of This Role May Look Like
* Strengthening staff connection and engagement – you'll help employees feel informed, connected and aligned with the organisation's purpose, priorities and culture through clear, engaging internal communications.
* Leading strategic internal communications planning and delivery – develop and implement internal communications strategies, content plans and channel management across platforms like the intranet, newsletters and staff events to ensure communications are timely, consistent and effective.
* Providing trusted communications advice that supports organisational outcomes – partner with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver high-quality communications, support campaigns and change initiatives, and ensure messaging is on-brand, accurate and aligned with Council objectives.
What You'll Bring / What We Are Looking For
* Proven experience managing internal communications channels, campaigns and initiatives, ideally in a complex or government setting.
* Ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders with confidence.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
* Design skills (Canva, Adobe Suite or similar) are a bonus.
Flexibility in working hours to support delivery of events outside of normal business hours (evenings, weekends) may be required occasionally.
Pre-employment Requirements
* Current Drivers Licence.
