Role: Principal Solution Architect
Location: Sydney
About the role: As Program Principal Solution Architect, you will be the expert authority on all technical discovery, design, development and legacy system decommissioning matters for a new flagship digital platform (CRM / BPM). This role will also oversee other lead solution architects across multiple projects and squads. In conjunction with the Principal Program and Product Managers, this critical and exciting role will also take on risk management and technical resourcing responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
* Define and maintain solution architecture, recommend legacy replacements, support funding and reporting.
* Design data models, integration patterns, and ensure security, scalability, and alignment with enterprise standards.
* Build and lead architects/engineers, drive delivery velocity, foster high‑performing, self‑organising teams.
* Identify risks, enforce standards, oversee testing, embed privacy, security, and reliability in design/build.
* Act as technical liaison, oversee vendors, and clearly communicate architectural decisions and trade‑offs.
* Lead go‑live planning, data migration, and legacy system decommissioning.
* Establish post‑go‑live support model ensuring readiness, continuity, and ownership.
Required skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
* Proven expertise in CRM (Salesforce) and BPM products, with strong knowledge of MuleSoft, Drupal, and related ecosystem technologies.
* Solid understanding of AI and workflow automation trends and applications.
* Extensive experience in enterprise architecture and solution discovery within large, complex organisations.
* Track record of delivering new platform builds, application implementations, and system cutovers.
* Demonstrated ability to set up and lead digital squads, including engineers, with strong documentation, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
* Outcome‑focused work style, with commitment to speed, flexibility, and quality in deliverables under minimal supervision.
* Familiarity with, or ability to quickly adapt to, NSW Government standards and practices.
