Overview
The Royal Hotel Balaklava is looking for a reliable and passionate cook to work split shifts 3 to 4 days per week. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, creativity, and takes pride in culinary skills. The role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes on and off the menu, adhering to and upholding high level of food safety and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
* Setting up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
* Preparing and cooking various foods using appropriate utensils and grillers.
* Ensuring kitchen maintains cleanliness standards as determined by the company and by law.
* Making necessary adjustments to meals to comply with customer demands.
* Preparing, presenting and serving food in a timely manner.
* Assisting with receiving and properly storing food supplies and ingredients.
* Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the chef or manager.
* Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
* High school certificate or equivalent preferred.
* Culinary training or certification is a plus, but not required.
* 1–3 years of cooking experience in a professional kitchen.
* Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
* Knife handling skills.

Pay: $52,172.02 – $80,846.90 per year.
Location and Commute
Balaklava, SA. Reliable commute or willingness to relocate with employer-provided relocation package (preferred).
Requirements
* Ability to commute/relocate to Balaklava, SA.
* Experience: Commercial Cooking – 1 year (preferred).
* Language: English (preferred).
* Licence/Certification: Food Safety Supervisors Certificate, Safe Food Handling Certificate (preferred).
* Work Authorisation: Australia (preferred).
