**About the opportunity**:
The position provides the chance to work across a comprehensive range of matters that contribute to national waste reform and help guide future areas of work on waste management and material recovery for Australia.
In working in a small team, the position will help support the delivery of the work of the Office. In particular the role will assist with, but may not be limited to:
- The coordination of meetings for the working groups
- Preparation of papers and briefing for the environment ministers
- Coordination of reporting and information for the delivery of Australian Government action items and governance procedures
- Assistance in establishing the procedures and processes for the Office and the secretariat
- Engagement with governments, industry and broad range of internal stakeholders.
**You may be well suited for the role if you have the following skills and capabilities**:
- Well-developed coordination and organisational skills with a proven track record of achieving results, managing uncertainty and risk, and working to deadlines
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, for a range audience in a variety of formats (eg reports, executive briefs, media requests)
- Ability to show initiative and work with limited supervision to deliver effective outcomes
- Ability to problem-solve and provide solutions for managements consideration
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholder
