About the Role
Based in Mawson Lakes, this role will lead the establishment and optimisation of Codan's global Finance Shared Services function. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a scalable, efficient and well‐controlled transactional finance operating model across multiple regions, supporting the continued growth of the Group. The role will play a critical part in centralising finance operations, driving process improvements and ensuring strong governance across all jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and lead Codan's global finance shared services function across Australia and North America
* Design and implement a scalable shared services operating model aligned to Group strategy
* Lead the transition of US transactional finance activities into a centralised model within the first 12 months
* Prepare for the future transition of UK transactional activities into shared services
* Define and implement service level agreements with business units
* Oversee end‐to‐end Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, intercompany and general ledger processing
* Ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls
* Drive process optimisation, automation and system improvements in partnership with finance systems teams
* Develop and monitor KPIs and performance dashboards to drive continuous improvement
* Support audit processes and strengthen governance frameworks
* Lead, develop and mentor geographically dispersed teams
* Drive change management initiatives and build a high‐performance, service‐oriented culture
* Support integration of new acquisitions into the shared services framework
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced finance leader with a strong background in transactional finance operations and shared services environments. Demonstrated experience establishing or transforming shared services functions within complex, multi‐entity organisations will be essential, ideally across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires strong commercial acumen, with a focus on governance, process improvement and operational excellence. Proven leadership capability in developing geographically dispersed teams and building effective stakeholder relationships across the business will be highly regarded. The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate both strategically and hands‐on, with a track record of delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, controls and overall financial performance. A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce is required, with CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualifications preferred. Strong ERP systems experience is essential, with SAP exposure highly desirable.
