We have an enticing Loading Operator position awaiting you at the iconic KCGM Super Pit that boasts a 10‐year mine life. Promising a long‐term and fulfilling future, your journey begins in a dynamic work environment at our Open Pit Mine on a family‐friendly residential 7:7 roster.
Responsibilities
* Efficiently conduct Excavators, Face Shovels and other mobile plant activities in the Fimiston Open Pit (KCGM Super Pit) to ensure that production targets are achieved in a timely and safe manner.
* Ensure trucks are loaded correctly and to target capacity from the correct bench level and maintain a circuit of evenly spaced trucks to ensure consistent delivery of both ore and waste.
* Work with and assist technical staff such as Geologists and Geotechnical staff to ensure all work is carried out to the required standard and in accordance with the production schedule.
* Engage in pre‐shift work planning, ensuring work is undertaken as per the dig plan, assist in the identification of hazards and ensure efficient utilisation of mobile plant.
* Coordinate and manage the assigned work area, directing dozers and trucks over the radio. Conduct active communications with dispatchers on ground conditions.
Requirements
* Minimum five (5) years of ancillary operating experience in hard rock mining, and minimum two (2) years of shovel (five hundred tonnes plus) operating experience. Preferred: five (5) years of Shovel Operating.
* Must reside in the Goldfields region or be willing to relocate.
* Strong understanding of mining sequence process and activities; good computer literacy.
* Current Unencumbered C‐Class Driver's Licence. S44 Certification desirable but not essential.
* Strong desire to be part of a team contributing to Northern Star's dynamic work environment.
