About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient professional to join our team as a Mental Health Support Worker. This permanent, part-time role (minimum guaranteed 15.2 hours per week) requires working on a 7-day rotating roster with weekend and extended hours shifts in Horsham.
The successful candidate will play an integral role providing positive person-centred, recovery-oriented supports to clients to achieve their wellbeing goals, develop capacity and life skills, strengthen social connections, enhance support networks and grow confidence to live independently.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality services and facilitate educational and social experiences that promote positive outcomes.
* Support clients to return to their community, live independently, and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to offer specialised psychosocial support.
* Develop and implement group programs that aid clients in building their skills and focus on recovery.
* Collaborate with various services and the community to ensure a coordinated, integrated response to client's recovery goals.
* Assist clients with personal care tasks where required.
About the Service
The Housing with Support residential service is a long-term integrated social housing program for individuals living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability. The Haven residences are staffed 7 days a week and designed like a 'home away from home' funded through client's NDIS packages. The service works collaboratively with clients providing personalised 1:1 support, shared supports, and group activities based on strengths and goals identified in an individual's recovery plan.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related fields.
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
* Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and interacting with families and carers.
* Ability to provide information and mentoring to build capability, establish social relationships, create community networks, and access relevant services.
* Experience in facilitating group activities is desirable.
* Understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams, and key stakeholders.
