Our Financial Accountant works within the Financial Reporting Team and supports the Financial Accounting Manager to ensure the integrity of the general ledger, with a specific focus on accounting for inventory, payroll and fixed assets, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
They will also work with the finance teams of Myer subsidiaries to ensure compliance with accounting standards and Group accounting policies.
About the role
Accounting for key profit and loss and balance sheet accounts relating to payroll, inventory and fixed assets.
This will include the preparation of monthly journals, budgets, forecasts and general ledger reconciliations.
Preparation of related commentary for the monthly Board report and preparation and analysis of inventory related information as and when required during each month.
Provide support in the coordination and management of the capital projects accounting process.
Assist with coordinating the interim and year-end external audit process, including liaising with the external auditors, the wider finance team and preparing information requested by the external auditors.
Support the preparation of the interim and year-end Myer financial report.
In addition, assist with analytical review of the financial results, which will include assisting with the preparation of associated Board reporting as required.
Assist with inventory related projects as and when they arise, and drive improvement opportunities related to day-to-day duties and processes.
Perform the consolidation process for Myer Group
Assist with providing technical support and financial analysis to the Myer Group finance teams
About you
CPA/CA qualified or equivalent experience, preferred
3+ years of experience in a similar role
Highly organised and self-driven with a strong attention to detail
Proficient with MS Excel and previous experience with Netsuite and Netsuite Planning and Budgeting advantageous
Great communicator with the ability to forge strong relationships at all levels across a complex business
Excellent stakeholder management experience with the ability to act autonomously in the role, using your initiative spotting opportunities in the business outside of your day-to-day scope in role
